Earth Friendly Lunches from Home

The month of April is Earth Month at Glendale. We want to challenge you to look for earth-friendly ways to pack your child’s lunches and snacks. Instead of using plastic bags, use reusable containers or wax paper. For beverages, use a reusable drink container or thermos. We’ve made great strides at Glendale in recycling more, separating for compost and reducing trash. But we know that we can do ever better. Throughout the month, classrooms and lunch tables will be taking a look at their trash to see where they can reduce even more.
Check this Web page out for a cost comparison between a typical disposable lunch and a waste-free lunch.
Here is also a link with great lunch packing and container information.
