Things are going smoother here in the second week of school! It was fun to have picture day and bus safety this week. Math and reading are both up and running in our classroom. We will start writing, science and social studies next week. We are enjoying reading each other's favorite books and talking about what reading means in second grade. The kids did excellent on their Math MAP test on Wednesday. Next Wednesday will be the Reading test. We will go over the results of these tests at conferences in October. We have a busy week coming up with Constitution Day on Monday. Please have your child wear red, white, and blue to celebrate. Parents are invited to come Tuesday evening for the 2nd grade curriculum night presentation in our classroom. On Friday, book orders are due (they will come home Monday with the Monday folders). We will also start the Glendale Read-A-Thon fundraising (more information to come) and the PTC is having a Family Fun Night. Check out the posts below for more Glendale and classroom information.
