Super Week!

School is getting better and better with each passing day!  Rountines and rules have been learned and now it is time for learning!  We have started reading, writing, and math in our class this week.  Next week we will start grade level switching for science and social studies.  Take home reading books started coming home this week.  Please listen to your child read this book every day and send it back to school for a new book every day.  First grade families should mark if the book was too easy, too hard or just right.  Second grade families should continue to work with the reading challenge calendar.  Activities can be done with the take home book or with another book.  Math homelinks will soon be in the binders as we are adding more homework to our day.  Parent/Teacher conference reminder notes went home on Friday.  Please double check that you can make it to your child's conference and send the note back to school. 2nd graders will take the MAP Math test on Monday.  Please see the post below for a practice link. Glendale has kicked off the Read-A-Thon fundraiser this week and students brought home information for families.  Please see a blog post below for more information on the Read-A-Thon.
