Another great week at school as flow by! Our first graders started math homework. Each day we write in our planners what math worksheet page to do as homework. Complete these daily, I will collect the whole packet at the end of the unit. We are getting to the end of unit 1 in math and will start unit 2 next week. Second grade math homework will start soon. All the second graders are doing excellent on their math timed tests! Keep practicing! In science both grade levels have been learning about nature, signs of fall, and weather. Both grade levels have started writing personal narrative stories in writing.
The second graders will have the MAP Reading test on Wednesday, October 5th at 9:30am. Practice links are posted below and test results will be given to you at conferences. They did great on the math one this week! Word study sorts for both grades will come home next week. Rememeber to cut out the sort on Monday and have your child teach it to you, practice it again Tuesday and Wednesday, on Thursday have your child spell the words on paper to prepare them for the spell check. If your child has pictures, they do not need to know how to spell the words. Please check the calendar tab above for our October class and volunteer calendar. You may wish to print out a copy for yourself at home. October lunch menu's can be found on the link below. To get the alterative line (line B) menu click on the left side of that page.
